It was upgraded to the present status of Sugarcane Research Station (SRS), Khanpur in 1983 under Directorate of Sugarcane Research Institute (SRI), AARI, Faisalabad

Service Offered

  • Advisory services to farmers and progressive growers.
  • provision of pre-basic/basic seed of approved varieties.
  • Coordination with other institutes (NARC, PARC) working on sugarcane
  • Training and demonstration to field staff of different sugar mills.

  • Advisory services to farmers on varietal identification
  • Provides estimate of sugarcane recovery (%) of different varieties
  • Providing the basic and certified seed of sugarcane varieties
  • Farmer Training and Demonstration on advanced production technology.
  • Training/mentoring the process of other concerned agricultural organizations.
  • Establishment of zonal trials at farmer/sugar mills’ fields
