Cotton is one of our most important crops, by increasing the production of cotton, the country’s foreign exchange can be increased to billions of dollars. Provincial Minister for Agriculture Punjab Syed Muhammad Ashiq Hussain Kirmani has emphasized on the need to implement modern technology and China-style model to increase cotton production per acre. It is necessary that our agricultural scientists, researchers and academia to engage towards in joint programs with international research institutions to increase cotton production. He further directed to prepare the comprehensive plan by setting up a committee for increasing the production of cotton and to present the PC1. He said that for effective planning of this project to increase cotton production. International organizations need to be taken on board. In addition, China’s support should be obtained. Agricultural scientists and researchers should prepare a detailed action plan after mutual exchange of their experiences to improve cotton production and quality so that record production can be achieved for the next cotton crop.
