Office Introduction
The Soil and Water Testing laboratory for Research at Multan was established during the year, 1974-76 for the benefit of farmers and research stations of this area. Keeping in view the usefulness of this project, it was brought to non-development budget facilities during 1980 – 81.


Government of Punjab agreed in principal for the up-gradation and expansion of Laboratory at Multan during the year, 1984 – 85 in the Annual Development Program entitled “Expansion and Strengthening of Soil and Water Testing Laboratory, Multan”. The laboratory analytical research in detail started in October, 1985 with the appointment of Agricultural Chemist (Soil Fertility), along with additional research staff and modern equipment facilities. Now–a-days site specific analysis and recommendations have been advised and accepted as a need of the each acre of soil to get optimum yield of new varieties of agricultural crops, vegetables, fodder, fruit plants, garden plants and fish farming.
