introduction
This Research Sub-Station is doing research work on effective and economic control measure against insect pest of cotton , wheat , pulses , oil seeds , vegetables and fruits for higher yield.

Objectives
- Development of pest control strategies for insect pest of major crops
- Screening of varieties /lines against insects pests complex of major crops
- Testing of insecticides against insect pest of cotton, mango and vegetables
- Focus on non-chemical methods of control
- Standardization of Insecticides

Achievements of department
1.Developed a package for management of Mango mealy bug
- Mounds Formation Technology to growers for the control of mango mealy bug
- Introduction of band to growers for checking the ascent of mango mealy bug nymphs
- Estimation of losses due to mango mealy bug
2. Management of fruit flies through different techniques
- Use of pheromone traps for monitoring and Management of Fruit flies
- Cultural Practices (Deep ploughing)
- Chemical and Biopesticides sprays
3. Screened the new lines of Cotton and Vegetables against pest complex
